Into The Blue

Getting inspired from Alke Reeh’s stunning work called SEWED CEILING, this workshop will revolve around the concept of blue being such an important presence in our lives. We will further take inspiration from how she explains the connection of a dome with the sky and how it stands right between us and the cast BLUE sky

We will portray each of these 2 things with a textile twist. This is where I introduce you to a beautiful craft called SHIBORI. We will be working with ITIJAME SHIBORI in this workshop.

Technique - Shibori, from JAPAN is in itself a craft that involves tie and dye of fabric with indigo. We will be focussing on Itijame Shibori for this workshop. Under this, we will be focussing on using different fabric folding techniques and using clamps for the resist dyeing process. The end product will resemble a dome on a fabric.

GET READY TO DIVE INTO THE BLUE WORLD WITH SHIBORI!!
