'We need a whole lot of trees' is a series of sensitive, intricate drawings,, accompanied with a powerful poem. These drawings, depicting various depictions of seed, leaf, sprout, fruit, are accompanied by texts written in Urdu. These were translated by the Hajra’s brother in law; Taimoor Shahid. A part of the poem reads:

We need a whole lot of trees like the tree of jujube from whose hard timber we carve the sickle that has long fallen from the flag of revolution
We need a whole lot of trees like the tree of banyan
with whose tender leaves we treat our leprosy
We need a whole lot of trees like the tree of golden apple
which Shankar created from Lakshmi's blinded eye
We need the fruit of the golden apple
with which we anoint the wounds of those afflicted by snake bites
The poem, and the drawings, call for relooking our relationship with nature, with the abundant, generous tree, not only for resources, but for continuing hope and resistance.

बहुत ही महीन, ध्यानपूर्वक और संवेदनशीलता से बनी इन ड्राइंग्स का नाम है “वी नीड ए होल लॉट ऑफ़ ट्रीस, जिनमे बीज, पत्तों, कपोलों, और फलों को दिखाया गया है, और जो की एक कविता का शीर्षक भी है। यह कविता मूल रूप से उर्दू की कविता है, जिसका कलाकारा के बहनोई तैमूर शाहिद ने अनुवाद किया है। इस कविता में तैमूर शहीद कहते हैं :

हमे ज़रूरत है बहुत सारे पेड़ों की
जैसे की बेर का पेड़
जिसकी साख लकड़ी से
हम बनायेंगे हँसिया
जो गिरा हुआ है बहुत समय से
विद्रोह के झंडे से

हमें ज़रूरत है बहुत सारे पेड़ों की
जैसे की बरगद का पेड़
जिसकी मुलायम पत्तियों से
हम ठीक करेंगे अपने कुष्ठ

हमें ज़रूरत है बहुत सारे पेड़ों की
जैसे कि सुनहरे सेब के पेड़
जो शंकर ने बनाये
लक्ष्मी की अंधी आँख से
हमें चाहिए वह सुनहरा सेब
जिससे हम सजायेंगे वह घाव
जो मिलें हैं साँपों से

यह कविता और चित्र, हमें पेड़ की उदार, प्रवृत्ति से प्रभावित होने के लिए प्रेरित करते है, जो की सिर्फ़ संसाधनों का प्रतीक नहीं, बल्कि उम्मीद और संघर्ष का भी प्रतीक हैं।
