Hajra Waheed’s “Apparations 1-18” are a set of 18 works made with natural gum arabica, and pigment on top with watercolour. As we move closer, we see beautiful serene subtle shades of blue, with the artist invoking “Did you know, we sense the innate ability to sense blue light? That we turn to light, before turning to dust?”.
The artist through this abstract series, beautifully thinks of the relationship we have to light, its importance in our life, particularly thinking about the sun’s unbound energy. How wonderful would it be, if we were all in tune with earth’s natural cycle, and in tune with our natural circadian rhythms?

हाजरा वहीद के अपरेशंस गम अरेबिका के साथ पिगमेंट मिलाकर तैयार किए गए रंग से वाटरकलर पेपर पर बनाये गए १८ काम हैं। इन खूबसूरत, हल्के नीले पन्नो के संदर्भ मैं कलाकार कहती हैं “ क्या आप जानते हैं, की हममें नीली रौशनी देखने की क्षमता अंदरूनी पाई जाती है?” “हम धूल बनने से पहले, रौशनी की ओर मुड़ते हैं”।
कलकारा इस अमूर्त सीरीज से इंसानों और रौशनी के संबंध को बहुत ही खूबसूरती से हमारे सामने लेकर आती हैं, ख़ासकर सूरज की रौशनी। यदि हम सब धरती और सूरज के प्राकृतिक चक्र के सामंजस्य में जीवन जी पाते, तो हमारा जीवन किन मायनों में अलग होता?
