Simryn Gills photographs, in eyes and storms look at you, and invite you to look at them. Simran took these photographs in Australia, in the Pilbara region where there are dams, mines, lakes and waterholes. We see, what industrial scale mining does to the landscape, leaving holes all over the places. The gaping holes, with time, start looking like eyes. What happens, when the eye of the camera meets the eye of the landscape? What happens, when the extracted, looks back at the extractor?

इस कमरे में सिमरन गिल की फोटोग्राफिक सीरीज “आईज़ एंड स्टॉर्म्स” हमारा स्वागत करती है । इसमें दाखिल होते ही आप देखेंगे की ठीक बीचों बीच एक बेंच हैं, जिसपर बैठते ही 9 तस्वीरें आपको घेर कर एक दूसरी दुनिया में पहुचा देंगी। यह तस्वीरें, सिमरन गिल ने ऑस्ट्रेलिया के पिलबारा नामक जगह पर ली, जहाँ पर खदाने, तालाब और बांध पाये जाते हैं। यहाँ पर हम देख सकते हैं, की औद्योगिक स्तर पर हो रहे खनन का धरती पर क्या असर पड़ता है,। यह खाइयाँ, गड्ढे, गोलाकार, कुछ देर देखने के बाद आँखों का आकार ले लेते हैं। आख़िर जब, ज़मीन की आँख, कैमरा की आँख से मिलती है, तो कौन किसे देखता है?
