About the event

Artist in Me series

This workshop invites participants to engage with the world not through direct representation, but through fragments of memory, experience, and imagination. Titled Global Discourse, the session reflects the ongoing exploration of how layered narratives can speak to the world we inhabit today. Participants will begin constructing imagined geographies through the art of map-making that showcase their creative landscapes.

On the first day, participants will prepare textured surfaces using different media, laying the physical and conceptual foundation for their works. Using materials and methods from traditional and contemporary practices, this surface will become a miniature terrain where stories can emerge.

On the second day, the workshop will begin to build upon these surfaces, juxtaposing images, forms, and textures to create a map. These are not maps in the literal sense, but narrative fields: spaces where borders dissolve, memory overlaps with imagination, and the global converses with the personal. The process encourages a slowing down and allows hidden connections to surface.

The workshop is both meditative and expressive - an invitation to construct meaning through material, memory, and narrative.

Participants are encouraged to bring any archival image or object that resonates with their memories.
