International Museum Day Celebration

KNMA celebrated the International Museum Day 2017 in collaboration with Sahapedia with a talk and discussion on ‘The Role of Design and Technology in Enhancing the Museum Experience’. Rachna Pande, alumnus of MIT and Pratyush Kashyap, alumnus of NID were the invited speakers who shared many examples of using technology to enrich the knowledge dissemination by museums. The larger thematic proposed by International Council Of Museums (ICOM) for the International Museum Day 2017 ‘Museums and Contested Histories: Saying the unspeakable in museums’ was also discussed. The evening concluded with a musical walk 'Hindostan Promenade' by Imtezaj Ensemble (Shyam Rajan, Anju Sharma and Gautam Ecka. The Performance was conceived as a response to the ongoing exhibition 'Stretched Terrains' at KNMA and also the International Museum Day thematic as declared by ICOM.
