About the Walkthrough
Mere Khwab Ghar Ke Qisse (Folktales From My Dream House)
This walkthrough mimics a vessel that holds Gulam’s journeys through mythical narratives, lived architectures, and poems that echo across time and landscapes. Vishal's interests in Gulam's works are deeply rooted in his interests in architecture as a verb, a vessel, and a verse.
This is part of the Curated Walkthrough Series with experts. It is a series of recurring walkthroughs that will be facilitated by curators from the museum as well as experts from varied backgrounds like literature, history, art, architecture, and more. The walkthroughs will not only be a guide to familiarise people with the exhibition and the curatorial vision but also bring in novel insights into the reading of his works. These can be storytelling, historical anecdotes, performative walkthroughs, and focusing on specific topics, and even special ones designed for younger audiences.
About Vishal K Dar
Vishal K. Dar's site-specific projects create iridescent overlays upon diverse kinds of public spaces. The spaces are often abandoned and disused sites, and sometimes well-known landmarks. He uses analogue elements taken from architecture and merges them with evanescent material, such as light, after which he programmes the overlay with diverse digital insertions and hacks.
Vishal is an artist and architect whose works have been shown in the Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco, the 11th Shanghai Biennale, the Jawahar Kala Kendra, Alserkal Avenue, Dubai, and Lulea Biennial.
