Summer Class

The Museum has devised four exciting workshops for art lovers and enthusiasts. Get acquainted to various mediums and art techniques. The workshops would include an insight into the history of various art forms and a hands on experience, where each participant would create their own artwork!

 

Linocut

This form of printmaking technique, is a variant of woodcut where markings are made on the surface, which are carved out using a sharp knife or a V shaped chisel. The board is then inked using a roller and then the impression is taken on paper or cloth. Various prints in an edition can be made by repeating the inking process.

Tile Mosaic

The origin of mosaic goes back 4000 years or more, this form of art making involves an assemblage of small pieces of tiles. The workshop would include the making of original and decorative compositions.

Buddhist Art

This is an artistic practice that originated in India following the historical life of Siddhartha Gautama. The paintings include both historical and mythical, narrative scenes associated to Buddhist practice.

Utensil Painting

Also known as Tole Painting, this is the folk art of decorative painting on metal and wooden utensils, objects and furniture. The class would include intricate patterns and painting techniques on utensils.
