The film screening will be followed by a Q & A with the filmmaker, Shishir Jha and Yogendra Yadav, moderated by the film curator, Aanchal Kapur. The conversation will discuss how unchecked development and displacement is affecting people’s lives, while they continue to navigate the ‘elements’ of culture and community that binds them together. A not-to-be-missed evening.

In a uranium mining area of Jharkhand, India, a tribal couple cope with the loss of their daughter. For them, the land and forest are witness to their daughter’s memory. With great sensitivity and beauty, the film explores the deeply intertwined connections between tribal communities and the forest that is their traditional home.
