Simran Gill’s water drawings are flowing, beautiful strokes of blue, are placed on the rows and columns of an accounting ledger, which simran took from an office which was discarding them. We see here, that our urge to organise, is met with flowing nature of the water, beyond language, labels and structures. Simran quotes a translation from the tamil poet Nammvalar, titled hymns for the drowning:
What she said
Making the earth shiver, crowding and wetting the world with their waters,
scratching with their hooves, the dark bulls of heaven fight with each other.

doing good and evil, cannot tell what's before me

सिमरन गिल की वाटर ड्राइंग्स, एकाउंटिंग लेजर के खाँचेदार पन्नो पर बनाई गई हैं जहाँ नीली रेखाएँ लहरों से दिखाई पड़ती हैं , जिन्हें सिमरन ने एक ऑफिस से लिया जो इन लेजर्स को फें कने लगा था। यहाँ हम देख सकते हैं, की चीज़ों को आयोजित रखने और संगठित करने की इच्छाओ का सामना सिमरन द्वारा बनाई गई शीतल, बहती धाराओं से होता है, को भाषा, खाँचो और ढाँचो के परे है। सिमरन तमिल कवि नामवलार की एक कविता का इस काम के संबंध में वर्णन करती हैं:
क्या कहा उसने?
धरती काँपने लगी
इस संसार को भिगोते और भरते
अपने पानी से
अपने खुरो से खरोचते
स्वर्ग के काले सांड
आपस में लड़ रहे हैं।
और मैं
अच्छाई और बुराई करता
नहीं जानता, की मेरे सामने क्या है
